One key benefit of bringing in external support is that discussions
and records can be held in confidence. In simple terms, the content of our discussions will be confidential unless
- the discussions reveal that a UK law has been broken
- the person or another person is deemed to be at risk of harm
A confidentiality agreement may also entail other conditions such as
- attendance
to an interview may be recorded
- the outcomes of discussions may be shared with other(s)
- further discussions may be required with a nominated member of staff
No professional organisation can assure 100% confidentiality. Three key areas where confidentiality
needs to be breached includes:
- where UK laws have been broken
- when a person or persons are at risk of harm or abuse
- when specific incidents come to light (i.e. child abuse, anti-terrorism etc)
We will help you clarify an appropriate and workable meaning of 'in confidence'
Any breach of confidence is a very serious matter and SYSTEMIC will communicate these through
one named individual within your organisation.
